Meet The Team

We are a small, independent family-run business.

Everyone gets involved, nobody gets a free ride. Inspiration, design, printing, hand-finishing, packaging, distribution – there’s always a job to be done.

When it comes to making cards, we like to do most things in-house and very little is outsourced. We are quite possibly control freaks but it works for us.

We like snacks in the office. We have a ‘free fruit’ bowl, though it’s nowhere near as popular as the biscuits sneaked in (usually by Sam and his sweet tooth!). We drink LOTS of tea, and the occasional posh coffee when Paul tests out his barista skills on the coffee machine.

We like nights out. We try to behave sensibly but sometimes the cocktails get the better of us. There have been occasions where press-ups have been done on the dance floor, break dancing back-spins have been attempted and one instance of a drunken head being shaved.

As far as greeting cards are concerned, we can be quite fussy. We only buy the best materials and we like to work with nice people. We only buy envelopes which are either recycled or made from FSC paper. We love working with GF Smith and their vast array of luxury board. Most of the board we use comes from a paper mill in the UK Lake District and the rest comes from a fabulous mill in Munkedal (Sweden) which is one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly paper mills in the world.

Approx 90% of our products are printed in-house by our sister company, Melbourne Print Ltd, with whom we share an office in Derbyshire. They have some super snazzy printing equipment. Many of our cards are hand finished with subtle sparkles – we have a super group of local ladies (and one gentleman) who do this for us. In 2016 we won a Henries Award for our card designs (as well as also reaching the finals in 2014, 2015 and 2017). To say we were delighted with our award was an understatement! It has pride of place in the office and is frequently stroked as we walk past it.

Jo

Jo

This is a picture of Jo when someone gets the biscuits out… Mum to two gorgeous girls (and Ted the dog). Chief doodler in charge of dreaming up new designs. Envelope purveyor. Netflix addict. Likes Gin. And Cocktails. And curry. Loves creating cards. Loves sending cards. Loves receiving cards.

Jess

Jess

In charge of all things marketing, social media and customer service related. Super organised and efficient – keeps the office running smoothly. Self-confessed tea addict and chief biscuit tester. We don’t often let Jess take control of the music in the office, as it’s inevitably Snoop Dog, J Hus or some other hardcore rap gangster. If we are feeling really mean we force her to listen to Michael Jackson, who she really loves.

Ellen

Ellen

(a.k.a. Alan): In charge of all things related to customer orders – printing them, picking them, packing them, invoicing and dispatching them. Barcode queen. Designated office techy boffin. Loves a cup of tea, but only if it’s made with weird milk that’s not milk. Chief Spider-Catcher in the warehouse.

Paul

Paul

DIY expert in charge of building stands for trade shows – our Screwfix card was 100% based on Paul. He loves a good spreadsheet, the more numbers and formulas the better. Paul manages the accounts for Dandelion and makes sure all our suppliers get paid. He also runs his own printing business and is a fabulous Dad (to two gorgeous girls, and Ted the dog). Despite all of this, he still has time for golf. Lots of golf. Some would say too much golf.

Rebecca

Rebecca

Rebecca joined us as a Graphic Design intern for a few weeks. We liked her, so we kept her! We have put her in charge of lots of designy-related stuff, such as brochures, website images, instagram posts, wedding stationery and plenty of other things. She is officially the quietest person in the office at the moment, but we are working on that. You know what they say about the quiet ones….

Joanne

Joanne

Joanne is in charge of the book-keeping for Dandelion Stationery – she is one of those strange and unusual people that like spreadsheets, calculators and financial reports… you know, the sort of things that sends lots of us into a deep slumber.  If you are a stockist of ours and you have any queries on your invoice, you are likely to end up speaking to Joanne.  As well as having a penchant for numbers she also likes dogs (probably more than she likes most people).

Ted

Ted

The office dog & Head of Security (though in reality he is everyone’s best friend and never short of a cuddle). Occasionally likes to wear a reindeer hat.

We have a passion for paper, fonts, colour and design (not to mention a slight obsession with envelopes). It’s all about the details. We create timeless designs with a few quirky additions to make us smile.
